I have read Christina’s article. She could be right that she is not autistic - I don’t know - but a lot of women in this age group very much are. Even the word Asperger’s was not known until the late 1990s. I’m at the older end of the group under discussion. I have read some of your other long pieces but I’m not inclined to get into this one.
I do not agree with the presuppositions of Christina’s article at all lol. That much should be clear to those like yourself who read my content (very much appreciated btw)
Merely asking a question to draw people into discourse is neither a crime nor is it a sign that I agree with what you may assume to be the position I would hold based on the question. When I ask questions, I am merely asking.. questions..
Based on her statement that her adult acquired skills mean her development couldn't have been autistic, instead of her autism having a different trajectory than someone destined to stay low functioning, I'm not sure we have the same functioning working model of what "is" autism spectrum disorder.
I’m listening to the livestream video. I had a lot of motor issues also. I didn’t crawl - I bounced. I had an unusual walking gait. I was not seriously premature - only one week, which I think is not enough to have an impact. These things are part of the autistic neurology, I believe, even though not everyone autistic has them.
