This Week’s Trans Activist Firestorm:
Recently a publication written by a trans activist named “Zinnia Jones” who doxxed me and my family, has published a story about me. Jones claimed that I said that I think “trans people are all mentally ill and stupid.” This is a lie. I have said no such thing. But, I am used to trans activists making up lies about me. The latest barrage of trans activist lies concocted about me, includes that I am pretending to be a detransitioner, and even being paid to do so!
I’m not unique in being targeted by trans activists with a barrage of slanderous comments and outright lies. Anyone who has publicly criticized the insane stances of the trans movement, the questionable medical ethics justifications underpinning the practice of gender medicine or the biologists who state that not even the most extreme body modifications can change one’s sex– has become accustomed to receiving regular abuse from trans activists.
Trans activists spew an endless firehose of bullshit at their political opponents. Because it takes them so little effort to generate their thousands of lies, and because it takes so much time and energy for us to thoroughly refute their lies with good, old-fashioned logic and reason, sane people usually just choose to ignore them.
But, in this case I have decided to dedicate some of my valuable time, and to violate my own rule of not engaging with trans activist bullshit.
Why do trans activists make up lies instead of dealing with facts? I have a theory about this that I would like to share.
But First, the Facts:
I grew up in the United States, in one of the world’s wokest cities. After countless hours of unrestricted internet access, I, at the age of 12 (in 2012), was convinced that unless I became a man, I would never find happiness. My trans “phase” lasted over 10 years. My parents sent me to study abroad in Israel in the hope that taking me out of a hyper-woke environment would cause me to quit my gender transition. Instead of listening to their wisdom, I dismissed it as transphobic bigotry and lived undercover as a man in the Middle East for most of my young adulthood.
It was not until I found myself running to a bomb shelter on October 7th in Israel that my trans delusion finally broke. I had no time to put on a breast binder which had allowed me to pass myself off as a man in the Middle East, by crushing my breasts, ribcage and lungs for years. I had dabbled in cross-sex hormone usage, but had not yet been able to access a medical doctor who would start me on the lifelong path of poisoning myself with toxic doses of injectable testosterone.
On October 7, 2023 I had far more important things to worry about than my gender issues– I had to contend with life and death. This whole experience made me realize two things: 1) that I do not want to be a medical patient for life (sounds like a hassle, especially in a war zone), and 2) that there are far more important things to worry about than pretending that I was a guy. Once I broke up with the trans illusion, I began to understand the real causes of my gender dysphoria.
How a Normal Adolescent Experience Sent Me Into a Gender Identity Crisis
Here’s the story of how my first crush sent me into a trans tailspin:
I began to confront the online world where I was radicalized and groomed, and now I write and speak about my ‘trans experience’ and my detransition publicly. These are the subjects of my other posts, but this background may help new readers understand why I have been targeted by a raging mob of trans activists.
Last month, a group of TRAs (trans rights activists) doxxed me online. While my identity was never secret and in fact was well known to hundreds of people, the TRAs finally made the connection between myself and my family, which they doxxed earlier.
If doxxing was not enough, they began to stalk me online, send me hundreds of death threats and now have produced a hit piece that is the subject of this article. Normally, it is a tremendous waste of time to refute the multitude of disinformation campaigns of trans activists, who have an unlimited amount of time on their hands to create such ruthless, obsessive ongoing campaigns.
Trans activists have been largely successful due to Brandolini’s Law, otherwise known as the bullshit asymmetry principle: “the amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude greater than that needed to produce it.” Trans activists can run a lie-production mill at full capacity because they’re not concerned with doing the hard work to pursue the truth. However, those of us who oppose them are concerned with pursuing the truth.
I was in an X (formerly Twitter) space recently, discussing my recent doxxing. Jones, one of the trans activists who cosplays as a journalist, wrote that in this conversation, I said that I think “trans people are all mentally ill and stupid.” Instead, what I actually said was “these trans activists, (who doxxed me and my family, alongside the entire families of other critics [of gender ideology] and their underage children) are all mentally ill and stupid.”
Not only did Mr. Jones decide to exclude the entirety of the context and most of the recorded audio, but he actively changed the words I said into an entirely different statement, and passed it off as a direct quote of mine. I take great offense to the words Mr. Jones put into my mouth. But I see an even bigger problem here: the fact that “Zinnia” Jones conflated a particularly violent and deranged strain of trans activism to which he personally belongs, with “all trans people.”
Wait, but aren’t trans people and trans activists the same?
No. They are not. Jones’s conflation of “trans activists” with “all trans people” is one I see being made commonly by people both on the trans activist side and on the gender critical side. I really do feel for the people who sit on the fence of the gender wars, trying to make up their minds about who to believe, watching in abject horror as these two sides battle for mutually assured destruction, while each side internally splinters over a thousand minute differences of opinion framed as intractable disagreements.
So, now is the perfect opportunity for me to contribute my two cents about the problems I see with conflating the terms “trans activists” and “trans people.”
Here’s how I use the term “trans people”: I use this term to refer to those who self-identify as a member of the opposite sex, neither sex, both sexes. These are people who refer to themselves as “transgender,” or as “transsexual” and/or who are taking some combination of social, legal, medical and/or surgical steps to live their lives as if they were members of the opposite biological sex.
I often use words such as “trans-identifying” to discuss those who hold the belief that they are not members of their biological sex or gender category, and “transitioners” to describe those who take any of the aforementioned steps to be perceived by others upon the basis of their self-perceived identity claims.
Here’s how I use the term “trans activists”: I don’t use the term “trans activists” to mean “activists who are trans” or “activists who are trans and speak about trans issues” but rather “people who advocate to remove the immutable, binary nature of sex from law, medicine and social consciousness more broadly by linguistically obfuscating the meaning of words such as ‘male/man/boy’ or ‘female/woman/girl’ to refer to one’s subjective sense of self rather than an immutable biological reality.” I do not call passive believers of gender ideology “trans activists”-- I use this term to refer specifically to people who actively promote the following ideas:
Here are some examples of trans activism and its impacts upon society. If you advocate for most or all of these things, I would consider you a trans activist:
The promotion of the idea that gender is a social construct and exists independently of biological sex – Trans activists push the belief that gender is entirely socially constructed or self-defined, which undermines biological reality.
Suppression of opposing viewpoints – Trans activists often attempt to silence or "cancel" those who question their beliefs surrounding ‘gender identity’ concepts. This includes deplatforming, refusing to debate opponents, doxxing and calling for violence against ideological opponents (and sometimes against their families) etc.
Advocating for mind and body altering interventions on children – Trans activists promote social transition (change of legal sex, name, pronouns, in combination with appearance and social roles), physical transition (use breast binders to flatten one’s breasts or implements for males to tuck their genitals), medical transition (such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones) and surgical transition (removal and rearrangement of healthy breasts and genitals alongside a myriad of other ‘feminizing’ and ‘masculinizing’ operations to the body, face and voice) for children and teenagers without sufficient, high-quality long-term evidence that these interventions improve the life outcomes of patients and a flagrant disregard for the consequences.
Undermining women's rights and single-sex spaces – Trans activists' push for gender self-identification threatens the integrity of women-only spaces (like bathrooms, crisis shelters, and prisons) as well as sports categories by allowing natal males who self-declare as women to be allowed access.
The requirement for ideological conformity – Trans activists enforce strict adherence to gender identity language and policies, at the expense of free speech and robust scientific debate. This often manifests as activists saying that those who disagree with them about gender identity beliefs are literally ‘erasing the existence of trans people’ or are ‘killing trans people’ or ‘want trans people to commit suicide’ or ‘are transphobic.’
Distortion of science and education – Trans activists push unscientific, ideologically driven ideas about sex and gender in schools, healthcare, and public policy.
Some trans activists are trans, but many aren't even themselves, trans people. What the trans activist community would refer to as their “cis allies” (people who don’t themselves identify as trans, but do align with most or all of the aforementioned trans activist beliefs) I would refer to as trans activists as well.
The trans activists which I have referred to as mentally ill and stupid (and evil- which I am surprised was not included in the slanderous headline) include a variety of people, some of whom hold trans identities and some of whom do not.
The mental illness and stupidity I am referring to, is not determined upon the sole basis of their subjective gender identity claims or the nature of the body modifications they have undergone (or the lack thereof) but due to the beliefs they hold and tactics they use to push their radical, socially disruptive, logically fallacious premises upon women, children and all of society.
Trans activists are those who advocate to enshrine the most radical and pseudoscientific beliefs around sex and gender into law. Here are some examples of these, and why I think these are hallmarks of mentally ill and stupid people:
Advocating for child transition of any kind, no matter what. This includes transitioning a minor child without parental knowledge or consent, without robust evidence about long-term outcomes, and based on the threat that without identity affirmation and permanent physical alterations to their healthy bodies, children will kill themselves. Trans activists have advocated for shipping hormones to kids without knowledge of their parents and without the guidance of a doctor, as well as for schools to socially transition kids behind their parents’ backs.
This is just… obviously mentally ill and stupid because if you’re talking about kidnapping children from caring families or sending them drugs online– you are broadcasting your illegal behavior for the world to see, while encouraging others to do the same. Recording crimes for the world to see is objectively not the behavior of smart people.
Targeting other peoples’ kids is a recipe for disaster. Had you not tried so hard to die on the hill of indoctrinating a generation of children into feeling that living a lifetime in their healthy, unaltered bodies will literally kill them, I doubt anyone would be here discussing this topic or calling into question your objectively false beliefs about your own sex or so-called ‘gender identity’.
Pushing for male adults who self-identify as trans women to have access to women’s intimate spaces and sports.
If trans activists don’t want all eyes on them, they should not be demanding that victims of rape call their rapists “she,” demanding that male offenders be housed with women (many of whom are victims of male violence) in crisis shelters or in prisons. This is a mentally ill tactic (specifically, a psychopathic one) and I fully believe that those who advocate for this type of policy are deeply mentally ill.
Nor should trans activists choose to support a massive hulk of a guy like Lia Thomas who has a male biological advantage so obvious to the naked eye, while defending his ‘right’ to expose his intact male genitals to female athletes and then to compete against them. Like… seriously? This is the hill you guys want to die on? That is so non-strategic and so blatantly flies in the face of common sense, that it is objectively stupid.
Advocating for the deplatforming of their ideological opponents, doxxing their political and ideological opponents and their families, and calling for violence against them.
This behavior is deeply pathological. Sane adults can sit around a table, using evidence to respectfully (and passionately) debate claims based on their merits. However, when someone does not have good evidence to debate their opponents they will commonly engage in fallacious constructions of logic (“if you disagree that I am who I say I am, it means you are trying to kill me, which therefore justifies me ‘defending myself’ by doxxing you, your family and calling for violence against you”).
Saying that anyone who disagrees with the claims that “trans women are women” or that “trans men are men” is erasing/killing/stripping human rights of trans people.
This behavior is mentally ill because it is paranoid, delusional, and totally disconnected from reality. It is also stupid. Calling people ‘evil, genocidal, transphobic bigots’ for saying that sex cannot be changed, and that we shouldn’t run our society upon the premise that it can be, is stupid (as in unintelligent).
These trans activists claim that anyone who disagrees with statements such as:
Gender identity is more consequential to one’s personhood than their objective biological sex.
Trans women are a category of women and trans men are a category of men, because ‘people are who they say they are.’
Is a transphobic bigot, or someone who wants to strip the rights of people who have gender identities and is motivated by wanting trans people to die.
There are many examples of trans activists who aren’t themselves trans (identifying or transitioning): namely “gender-affirming” clinicians, liberal teachers and university professors who fail students for making arguments about biological sex being more consequential to performance in sport than ‘gender identity.’
But there is some overlap: Many trans people and their non-trans identifying supporters hold at least some ideological and unprovable beliefs about sex and gender, but there are very few who hold most or all of the most extreme beliefs. Among those, even fewer of them are dedicating a significant portion of their lives to advocating for abolishing sex from law, or for the notion that castrating children is suicide prevention.
In the same way as many trans activists are not trans themselves, there are many trans people who aren't trans activists. In fact, there are several notable trans people who advocate against trans activist narratives and policies, in favor of a reality-based understanding of gender dysphoria and transition.
The two most notable trans people who advocate against trans activism and gender ideology, with a focus on protecting women’s categories in sport and opposing the indoctrination and transition of minor children are Buck Angel and Blaire White.

These two public voices with big platforms are often seen as an extreme minority within the '“trans community,” though I find that difficult to believe based on my personal experience within trans communities over the past decade (and some change), in different countries and of different generations. There is no single accurate claim that can be made about “all trans people,” as this group is not monolithic.
Trans People Don’t All Hold the Same Beliefs:
Some trans (identifying and transitioning) people are conservative, some are liberal, some believe they were born trans (or in the “wrong bodies”), others don’t. Some trans people can acknowledge their natal sex as an important fact about themselves, while others refuse to. Some support castrating children who express gender confusion, while others will rail against it. It doesn’t take anything other than a self-declaration to “be” trans these days, but there are those who transitioned when there were stricter requirements- so some of this disagreement is generational (and some of it is personal opinion). “Trans” as a category is frankly incoherent. It casts a wide net of people who hold many different beliefs, both about ‘trans issues’ and about everything else.
Trans Visibility: Good or Bad for Trans People?

When trans activists say that relentlessly pushing for ‘trans visibility’ (in mainstream media, on children’s shows, everywhere) is good for trans people, there are many trans people who will agree wholeheartedly with them.
However, there will be other trans people (like the one I used to be, and like many others who understood themselves to be ‘trans’ prior to the declaration of the “transgender tipping point”) who think that the push for trans visibility actually makes the lives of people who want to live as the opposite sex far more difficult, now that our societies have become incredibly aware of what traits to look for in someone who is of one biological sex but is attempting to appear as the other.
Trans men/ FTMs (women who approximate, to the best of their abilities, the appearance of men) back in 2012 (when I was first indoctrinated online) discussed being able to go to the beach shirtless, with two big scars across their chests following ‘top surgery.’
Because no one knew what these surgical scars symbolized, these FTMs could come up with some alternate explanation for their scars to those who asked about them (such as: a different surgery, burns, extreme weight loss and skin removal, an unrelated accident etc.,) than one which would ‘out themselves’ as having been born women.
.
Today, the double mastectomy and forearm/leg scars have become iconic in the culture war movement on trans ideology. Trans activists see them as battle scars of brave warriors. Gender Critical Activists see them as evidence of brutal bodily mutilation. Regardless of how you see them, nearly every English speaker now knows that these scars across the chest of a bearded individual belong to someone who isn’t really a man, even though they may appear to be.
One result of “trans visibility” is increased scrutiny and decreased chance at the social integration that so many people who embark upon the transition process desire. In this example, the push of trans activists to have trans characters on every TV show, on the covers of newspapers and as influencers in schools actively stands in the way of the so-called ‘Old School Transexual’ to fly under the radar in society– which they see as being the entire reason they chose transition over coping with gender dysphoria as a non-conforming, but non-modified individual of their biological sex category.
And just so we’re clear, Trans Activists Ruthlessly Attack Trans People who Disagree With Them, Too.
Trans activists will hurl a bunch of insults at transsexuals like Buck Angel and Blaire White, calling them a bunch of jargon-y trans community-specific insults, accusing them of having “internalized transphobia” or of “working to deny other trans people the very medical interventions that they have benefitted from.”
Trans people who stand up to trans activists are seen as gender apostates, or as infidels– similarly to how detransitioners are. Because of our former or current ‘trans experiences’ they think that we are supposed to side with them, and when we do not, we are all treated by trans evangelists, as infidels. Trans activism is a religion, which, much like Islam, commands violence to be used against not only non-believers, but particularly against ex-believers. Detransitioners and current trans people who disagree with trans activism are a threat to the trans activist movement, because we know too much. We are a threat because our experiential knowledge is proof that trans activists are lying about nearly every single claim they make.
Now, onto “Zinnia” Jones’s lie – or shall we be more generous and say “disinformation”?
I have not in fact uttered any statements about “all trans people,” but yes I will admit that I have uttered the phrase that the trans activists who violently doxx their ideological opponents (and their families) are "all mentally ill and stupid.”
This comment was made during an hour-long “Twitter Space" where I discussed my doxxing and the troubling tendency of TRAs to go into a rage when reality clashes with fantasy. The full audio of the conversation was miraculously scrubbed from Jones’s hit piece to ensure that this bit of misinformation can remain unchallenged and masquerade as fact. Apparently the same Jones, who both doxxed me and wrote this recent hit piece is also stalking me online. I am flattered by the attention but prefer to deal with facts rather than fantasy.
Now for the real question:
Why did the author of this hit piece feel compelled to misquote me, by swapping the phrase “these trans activists” with “all trans people”?
There are two possible answers. One is a simple misunderstanding, which I have happily corrected in this lengthy piece. The other is much more troubling, and points to the root of the problem–the TRA rage that is invariably triggered when the sledge hammer of reality comes down on the fragile cross-sex fantasy many of them live in. But let’s deal with each in turn.
A simple misunderstanding?
Had it not been for Jones’s obsessive focus on doxxing individuals and their entire families, it would have made sense to grant Jones the principle of charity (which he did not grant me). Rather than assuming that this misquoting was a deliberate attempt by Jones to dishonestly malign me in order to paint me (alongside all critics of gender ideology and trans activism) as an evil bigot who wants trans people to lose their rights and die- I am willing to assume there was simply a misunderstanding, which I have expanded upon in this response.
In this heightened cultural moment of political tension around trans issues, Jones perhaps genuinely thought that when I use phrases such as “trans activists” or “these trans activists” that I am using ‘transphobic dog whistles’ to stand in for “all trans people.” But, it is Jones, not I, who conflates a particularly ardent, vociferous and violent strain of trans activism and the activists (be they trans or not) who doxx and incite violence against both their political opponents (and sometimes even underage, uninvolved children), with “all trans people.”
Should a simple misunderstanding turn out to be the reason for Jones’s latest hit piece on me, I am sure Jones will immediately apologize, retract the piece, or at the very least issue an erratum (as a proper journalist would). I am afraid to hold my breath for this though, as I will almost surely pass out from lack of oxygen.
We must remember that the exchanges between trans activists and their ideological opponents is not an argument of equals. We all know Zinnia’s real name and life history. Much of his life- from a quirky, autistic teen boy in a messy bedroom all the way to his current trans woman identity and his (odd) sexual proclivities have all been broadcasted by him online. But yet, despite him doxxing and threatening gender critical voices on our side (and their families) relentlessly, we haven’t revealed his true identity– in fact, we hardly even talk about him.
A purposeful misrepresentation?
First, let me be clear. I don’t actually think that trans people are all mentally ill and stupid, and have never made such statements.
Had Jones been an actual journalist (rather than merely self-identifying as one), he would have done his homework and found out that I routinely hold Twitter spaces where trans people, detransitioners, trans activists, gender critical activists, Israelis, Palestinians or anyone else, can all come together and engage in respectful, spirited debates. Many trans people enjoy my spaces because they enjoy making and listening to a variety of different arguments. I enjoy these conversations and I have made many new friends from different walks of life– some of whom I disagree with on basically every single issue that is most important to me.
Disguising personal and vicious attacks as “journalism” is a common form of deception trans activists engage in. Unfortunately for them, such attacks do not pass as journalism to any intelligent reader. Here is a tip for trans activists to ‘pass’ better as journalists: look up the proper protocol when it comes to quoting people and follow it. Another suggestion is to more broadly engage with the concept of “journalistic integrity”.
Misrepresenting quotes is one of TRA’s most relied-upon tactics. Journalism has pesky rules about how to present someone’s quote. If one wishes to maintain intellectual integrity while changing even one word of someone’s original statement for the purposes of quoting them, there has to be a good, clarifying reason to do it, and the change to the quote has to be clearly identified.
If a quote is to be changed in any way, this is signified with square brackets. These are required whenever the original quote is changed for any reason such as pronoun consistency, grammatical accuracy more broadly, correction of spelling errors or to include additional contextual information such as the types outlined in MLA quotation guidelines.
If one is to change one word, or even to so much as correct a spelling error, he or she must make proper use of ellipses or brackets in order to ensure that speakers are not misrepresented. Jones has done none of this and has instead chosen to cherry pick a clip amongst hours of audio from the entire conversation about this topic, and to cut and paste statements from different sections into one headline as if it were a direct quote of mine.
“Zinnia” Jones’s behavior is contemptible and dishonest. On the basis of journalistic integrity alone, any sensible reader should automatically dismiss Jones’s bad-faith claims about my positions, and to question the legitimacy of his entire body of work.
As we all know, trans activists routinely take statements out of context to build the narrative that their opponents are hateful bigots intent on stripping them of their rights and driving them to harm. They claim that refusing to affirm someone’s subjective and unprovable gender identity is equivalent to erasing their existence. They insist that denying a child’s or an adult’s false belief that they are the opposite sex—and withholding legal, social, and medical interventions to reinforce that belief—will literally kill them.
These claims, alongside a myriad of others, are preposterous in nature. By now, they have also been widely disproven. Yet trans activists continue to peddle blatant lies as if they are irrefutable facts.
Why are Trans Activists So Allergic to Telling the Truth?
Simply put, if trans activists were forced to confront the truth, they would have to reckon with the reality that their pursuit of a genderless, transhumanist utopia has not led to liberation from human biology—neither through a needle nor a scalpel. What it has produced, instead, is lifelong chemical dependency and endless surgical modification, trapping Man in a state of arrested transcendence, clinging to childish fantasies well into adulthood.
When trans activists claim that we are killing them, what they truly mean is that we are killing their illusions—the fantasies that have become the foundation of their identities. And we are doing so with the most obvious and inescapable truth: that biological sex is determined at conception, beyond personal choice, and that the reality of this natural order will remain fixed for life—no matter how desperately one might try to alter it.

Just viewing trans videos on YouTube, truly frightening. I already knew RTA wildly misogynist (#terfisaslur) but had no idea such hate & misinformation existed in name of SJW, stay strong, Maia!
